Challenge Day and Teach For America
Invite you to the Second Annual Anti-Bullying, Anti-Luncheon
Love Back – It’s the One Thing all of us can do!
Challenge Denver, in partnership with Challenge Day and Teach For America (TFA), invites you to celebrate the youth of Denver during an “Anti-Bullying, Anti-Luncheon” fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Since its formation in 2006, Challenge Denver’s mission has been to engage and inspire Denver Public School students by helping them feel safe, connected and empowered to be successful in school every day. The one-day Challenge Day program engages participants in a series of games and discussions that break down communications barriers and renew the connections between students. To date, more than 15,000 DPS students have experienced Challenge Day programming at their school.
The “Anti-Bullying, Anti-Luncheon” event will shine a light on an amazing new collaboration between Challenge Denver, Challenge Day and TFA that is working to sustain the Challenge Day experience in Denver Public Schools throughout the year. During the luncheon, a series of speakers will inspire you to “Love Back” and learn more:
- DPS students will share their “Love Back” essays describing how Challenge Day has inspired them to “love back” their schools, their fellow students and their community
- Jeff Benton, Chairman of Challenge Denver, Betsy Leighton, Chair of Challenge Day, and Zack Neumeyer, Chairman of Teach For America-Colorado, will provide inspirational insights as to how we can continue this mission of transformation by giving of our time, our hearts and our wallets
- Colorado State Senator (and TFA alum) Michael Johnston, author of the “Love Back” essay in response to the Aurora Theater shooting, will speak on the importance of “loving back”
Please join us for what is sure to be an inspiring and important afternoon.
